How to Work with Flower Essences

The goal with essence therapy is to heal – to heal our past, to heal our present and to support us as we move into the future, stronger and healthier.

In traditional flower essence therapy, the protocol is to work with a practitioner who will support you in identifying the emotional origin of your concerns and then selecting a blend for you based on your discussions. However, not everyone is comfortable or willing to disclose the sensitive or personal details of their lives and it is this aspect that creates a barrier for many.

Selecting essences surrounding your unique natal chart allows for a bypass around this discussion. Everything happens in cycles, and astrology provides the blueprint. What happened in your past continues to show up today because it is present in your natal chart. Flower essences provide an opportunity for awareness surrounding these connections.

Taking flower essences and becoming aware is only half the journey. The other half surrounds change and that means, flower essences work best when we become active participants in the process.

Buddhism is a useful philosophy that recognizes that each one of us experiences pain and suffering in life – we all have something to work through - but that we CAN work through it if we are also willing to cultivate principled behavior, self-discipline and awareness.

Each essence that is selected will come with a Buddhist teaching that helps guide and support you as you make change by providing insight into how.

For example, the essence of Fireweed grows after a fire. It stabilizes the ground and provides the foundation for new growth. It is an essence for anyone who has been “burned” in the past. The Buddhist teaching for this essence is about moving forward in life: Don’t treat people as bad as they are, treat them as good as you are.

This essence reminds us that sometimes when we have been hurt, we will not receive an apology or proper closure. Fireweed essence helps us create the foundation for how we move forward. Do we retaliate, or do we elevate?

Our custom blends support the release of uncomfortable feelings by calming our nervous system through the process. The accompanying Buddhist teachings provide principles to support and guide you through the process of change. You may disclose as much information as you are comfortable; however, working through this process can also be done without it.
